The court dismissed the Federal Property Management Agency’s claim and took the BIEL clients’ side in a dispute concerning the land privatized by the Leninsky District, Moscow Region, and formerly owned by the RSFSR Literary Fund.

The court dismissed the Federal Property Management Agency’s claim against 24 defendants to force the defendants to demolish their private houses at their cost and confiscate the underlying land in favor of the Russian Federation.

According to N.I. Sapozhnikov, head of the BIEL dispute resolution practice, the BIEL team which handled the case from the start succeeded in reversing the legal approach demonstrated by courts in other lawsuits concerning the assets formerly held by the Literary Fund of Russia.
