Philip Ryabchenko, Public Commissioner for the Protection of Women Entrepreneurs and Their Families: “A Woman’s Success Increases the Likelihood of Divorce”

The probability of divorce in a family where the woman is successful is higher than average. This was stated by Philip Ryabchenko, managing partner of BIEL, a law firm, and public commissioner for the protection of women entrepreneurs and their families, at a meeting of Ú, a closed women's club.
"Statistics show that a successful woman in the family means a high probability of divorce. Especially if the woman outperforms the man," said Mr. Ryabchenko.
According to him, men often simply cannot cope with the situation when their wives start to overtake them in their career advancement. In addition, there are often situations when men "start to like the role of a woman," the expert continued. "They start to relax and develop complexes, they take it out on women, start to terrorize them and arrange incomprehensible showdowns in the evenings".
In this case, he considers divorce to be a radical solution, and a prenuptial agreement to be an intermediate one. "A man usually does not delve into his wife's business, so if you give him something tangible that he understands, then the man may agree to a prenuptial agreement. And then it depends on the woman, she must make a decision whether to stay with this capricious child or move on and separate from him, having secured her assets," added Mr. Ryabchenko.
He also stated that the strongest marriages are concluded by business partners, because they "treat business like a child." "Do a man and a woman compete when they have a common child? Maybe for attention. If a divorce situation is brewing, then children are often a stop. And in business too," the expert concluded.
